Latest ARMA 3 Patch/Update

DoubleY

Ok, prepare for complete and utter nerdgasm here.

This newest patch is AMAZING. They added two new jets, one of which tops out at like 930km/h which is FUCKING AMAZING! That jet is the To-199 Neophron (CAS)

The other one is SUPER maneuverable and still tops out at 550-600km/h which still isn't bad. (can't remember the name

Both new jets come with a Vulcan type cannon on the front which offers an improved fire rate over the default jet in the game

The To-199 Neophron (CAS) also comes with nearly 50 rockets, 40 of them being air to ground missiles. This is a little video I made just showing off the To-199 Neophron (CAS) (my personal favorite vehicle in the game)

I am NOT trying to advertise. Video looks like poo.poo because I didn't make the bitrate high enough.

Maybe they should fix some of the bugs before throwing in more jets.

How's the performance? Still abysmal?

It's better. I get around 70fps at stock settings with a 4770 and a 780

Still nothing great though

Shitty performance?

Try reading the Bohemia forums.

http://forums.bistudio.com/forumdisplay.php?113-ARMA-3-GENERAL

You need to tweak the settings.

Shadows on LOW = Uses CPU

Shadows on HIGH = Uses GPU.

oh and cranking the view and object distance up to max even if you have a 780 ti is going to cause a large FPS hit

especially if you have other settings like shadows using the CPU instead of the GPU.

Well that's just counter-intuitive and Bohemia's fault for making retarded settings.

It not just the graphical settings, there are severe problems with CPU usage on Arma 3. It shows up in the campaign and again in most multiplayer games. Its possible to make some games run OK but its also not uncommon to see performance down in the 20 fps range in a multiplayer game unfortunately. Until they fix the engine it will remain a big problem.

There is an FPS counter in the video settings.  Use it.
