Hi!
This is my very first PC build and I went back and forth between buying a prebuilt or building a PC myself and I decided to build my own.
I've got all the parts priced out on Newegg and Amazon and I am using a build by a youtuber (800 dollar budget build by Kristoforyee) with some change to the storage option, but I'm not very knowledgeable about PC parts so I just wanted to check if everything would work together.

It looks like a well balanced system overall.

Just make sure the cooler you chose is compatible with AM4 sockets: according to Noctua's own website ( link ), the U9DXi4 is for Intel XEON platforms only.

I'd also suggest considering at least 3200Mhz dual channel ram (Ryzens love higher speeds) and a B550 motherboard for a bit more future compatibility.

MAIN PC: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G | Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming | RAM: 16Gb DDR4 Patriot Viper 4 3200 | GPU: XFX RX580 4Gb GTS | Case: Sharkoon S25-W | Storage: M.2 NVME Adata Gammix S10 128Gb + SATA SSD WD Blue 1Tb | ODD: LG GH24NSD1 | PSU: Seasonic Core GM-500 | Display: AOC I2490PXQU | Cooler: Wraith Stealth | Keyboard: Logitech K120 | Mouse: Logitech B100 | Sound: the usual integrated Realtek | OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

RETRO PC: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 2800+ | Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M | RAM: 2Gb DDR 800 | GPU: ATi Radeon 9600 Pro 128Mb | Case: Tacens Anima AC4500 | Storage: IDE WD Blue 80Gb + IDE DVD-RW drive + floppy drive | Sound: Terratec 128i ESS Solo-1 PCI | OS: Windows 98 SE + Windows XP SP3 + Linux Bionic Pup 32
HTPC: CPU: AMD Athlon 3000G | Motherboard: AsRock B450M-HDV R4.0 | RAM: 16Gb DDR4 G.Skill Aegis 3200 | Case: Aerocool CS-101 | Storage: SATA SSD Silicon Power A55 256Gb | ODD: LG blu-ray WH14NS40 | OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

I went onto Noctua's website but it's a little confusing. How do I check if it's compatible with those kinds of ports?

Could you also maybe suggest or link a better motherboard and ram?

I'm not sure what's good or not

You basically want an AM4 compatible cooler. Just check the specs and see if they mention AM4 socket: Noctua's NH-U12A ( link ) does indeed mention several different sockets, including AM4.

That being said, if you don't plan to overclock your CPU, the 2700X comes with its own cooler and it does a more than adequate job. This would help you save 60$ which is not bad!
As for mainboards, it really depends of what features you need. This one is a nice middle of the ground example and should cost around 100$: AsRock B550M Pro4 .
Speaking of RAM, with a Ryzen chip you should really have nothing less than 3000 / 3200 Mhz memory. There are plenty of brands and models, as long as you stick with the usual supects (Corsair, Crucial, G.Skill, Kingston, Patriot, Teamgroup...) you should have no trouble. The kit I'm personally using is the Patriot Viper 4 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16: not the fanciest, not the greatest maybe but they are rock solid and have a great price/perfomance ratio.

Thank you for the help! One more thing though,

The motherboard you mentioned doesn't show up in the options to choose one on pcpartpicker because of compatibility.

The closest I can get to 550 is either the 450 option or the 570.

One motherboard I saw that I might switch it to is the Asus ROG Strix B450 because it removes the compatibility error I'm pretty sure
