So, like 2-3 months ago i bought this pc off a friend of a friend for super cheap, i play a lot of minecraft and being the hypixel trygard i am i use around 20 mods and play on hypixel a fairy laggy server, so i can usually only hit 20fps using all my mods, so obviously i need an upgrade, i know nothing to do with gpu (because mc uses little to no gpu) so i was thinking of buying 2 8g ram sticks and a ryzen 5 3600 for around 400-500 cad, is there any problems with this or better options, the only problem i could see is the power supply

This is with a motherboard a little bit on the cheaper side. You can get much better for a bit more, but it would bring it out of your price range. 850 watts is more than enough. I'd worry more about the reliability of it if it's a cheap model.

Which is AM3 and DDR3. You'd need a new motherboard to go to AM4 for the 3600 and DDR4 would go with any motherboard that the 3600 works in.
