I9 10850k

Hello

I am planning to build a new pc and am looking for a CPU, I am considering i9 10850k or ryzen 7 5800x
with the i9 50 euros cheaper at 400 it seems like an amazing deal, but I have some questions about it.

What is a good motherboard to compare it with around 150 euros?

also will the arctic freezer 34 eSports DUO be good enough for the 10850k with no overclocking on the CPU?
https://www.arctic.de/en/Freezer-34-eSports-DUO/ACFRE00074A
at last i'd like to use this cpu for around 5 years, will it still be good enough then?

That cooler is not going to handle either processor.

It will handle a 5800x no problem but a 10850k is too much.

5800X is practically a reboot of the FX-8350, no way it'll handle a 5800X, could barely keep my 5900X managed under a Hyper212 EVO and that chip has Dual CCX design

My profile picure is real. That's what I look like in real life. I'm actually a blue and white African Wild Dog.

I'm an Asus ROG kinda guy. A lot of any suggestions would depend on the budget...

For air cooling the NH-D15 will be better than most All in one water coolers, which the 10850K could really use a custom water loop with a really decent waterblock if you wanted to actually get any overclock from it. The 5800X is much more power efficient, but will likely heat soak the Esports 34 Duo rather quickly as you may have seen in the thread above I linked. More heat pipes the better.

You'll be better off with a dual tower like the NH D15.

I do use a NH L12S. It's a slim cooler. Not really enough for the 5800x, but it gets by. If you go the 5800x, just know they run super hot. Their idle is high temperature. If you want low, more normal temperatures, go with the largest air cooler you can fit and afford.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I am not planning to do any overclocking with the 10850k and the budget for motherboard is around 100-200 euros

what about a 240mm AIO cooler will that be  better with a max price of 130 euros, cause the NHD15 is so ugly.
any suggestions? and if possible 1 from corsair if they are good cause I want to build a corsair kind of build, but if some other AIOs are a lot better for the same price it doesnt matter if its not corsair

240mm or 280mm AIO would be something to consider.

The i9-10900K and 10850K are hot CPUs, so you'll need something decent.

Also you want a motherboard with a respectable VRM design + cooling, so it won't thermal throttle with even a i9-10850K at stock.

I don't how much these are in Euros, but these boards are in the $150 ~ $200 USD range, and suit be suitable for a i9-10850K, even with a decent overclock.

Just a few to look into.

  • ASUS PRIME Z490-A -- 6 (x2) + 1 phase VRM, 45A each, rated as Tier-B
  • Gigabyte Z490 Vision G -- 12 + 1 phase VRM, 50A each, rated as Tier-B
  • Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Elite (AC) --  12 + 1 phase VRM, 50A each, rated as Tier-A  (Tier A vs the Vision G due to better VRM cooling design)
  • MSi Z490-A Pro -- 6(x2) +1 phase VRM, rated as Tier-C

Intel Z390 Rig ( *NEW* Primary )

5800x does run hot.  Scythe Fuma2, though not nearly as large as the big Noctuas, is barely adequate to complete cinebench r23.  However, in normal usage, including gaming, it rarely hits 75c.  Mine idles as low as 29C.

the 2 gigabyte ones and the ASUS one are all 200 euros, the MSI one is 145 euros, SO if I had to choose between motherboards ill choose the Gigabyte Z490 Aorus elite AC or the MSI, Z490-A Pro
is the Gigabyte Z490 Aorus elite AC a lot better then the MSI and worth the extra 65 euros or not?

Ill try to give some more information about what I will use
I want to use this CPU for the next 5/6 years, thats why I want to go for a 8 or 10 core cpu, was concidering a 5600x before but not anymore
I am not gonna use it for any editing, mostly for gaming, and maybe for streaming in the future.
I want to be able to play AAA games without problems in the future, so thats also why more cores will be handy.
If I buy my new pc ill aslo buy a new monitor and use my current monitor as my 2nd one.
if you need any more information just tell it.
Currently im just looking at all the options.|
I hope that with this information recommending a cooler will be easier.

Personally, I would still go for the Z490 Aorus Elite AC.

Even so 65 Euros over the span of ~5 years.... it's like nothing.
