So I have an Asus TUF Gaming X570 pro wifi and a Ryzen 5 5600x in a brand new pc built from scratch. I am attempting to do the bios flashback with a usb. As soon as I plug in the power and flip the PSU switch the bios button is already flashing. So I plug the usb in and hold it for three seconds but the light does not blink any faster. at one point the light was solid green, but nothing else happened. I unplugged and redownloaded the bios update and am attempting it again, and the light is just steadily blinking, and when I held the bios button it did not blink any faster. I read online manuals but didnt really find a solution to my problem. First time builder here so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dude, you don't need to plug lttstore.com to get answers.

TBH most people on the form are tired of all of the lttstore.com plugs.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I would help, but I don't even have a board that has a bios flashback button, so I don't have any experience. Best of luck though.

Have you tried with the CPU not in the socket? You also renamed the BIOS file properly? Also, you turned the computer off before pushing the Flashback button? From what you said in the OP, it sounds like you didn't follow the directions in the manual correctly somewhere.

Also, no reason to read online manuals when the manual came in your motherboard box and is also available from the ASUS site.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I'm also having issues with the flashback feature.  Bought this motherboard (same one as OP) specifically because of it so that I could install a new Ryzen 5000 chip in it (had an Intel previously).  After assembling the system, downloading the BIOS update, naming it correctly, formatting a USB correctly, and plugging it into the right slot I pressed the button.  The light then began to blink for over half an hour—what had happened is that the button actually got stuck on the IO shield due to some tolerances being too tight I guess and now it wouldn't come out of the "pressed" position.

This was a terrible bummer of a situation because updating the BIOS can be a nerve wracking situation at the best of times, I decided to shut it off (nothing was happening at that point anyways I figured, this is supposed to be a three minute process), take the IO shield off, and try again without it.  Now when I hit the button (took the CPU out as well) it blinks three times (like it should) and then just goes solid—its been this way for about 45 minutes now with no sign that anything is happening.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Contacted ASUS about it, looks like it's RMA time!  Wish they gave the BIOS button a little more room on the IO shield, would have completely prevented this issue as far as I can tell.

EDIT 2: No!  It booted!  BIOS version ended up supporting Ryzen 5000 out of the box and the flashback shenanigans didn't brick the board.  Was able to boot into the BIOS, flash it in the GUI without problems, and install Windows! The IO shield thing is still real and dumb though.
