ender 3 pro and bl touch

I Just installed my bltouch onto my ender 3 pro i have also updated the firmware from the creality website after installing the bltouch the x and y axis move perfectly fine but the z axis only goes up. when auto homing the printer centers in the middle of the bed and does not go down or deploy the pin then it says stopped is there something wrong with the bl touch the printer or the firmware that i can fix to get this running as i have been trying to get this working for over a week now. when I try to manually deploy or retract the probe nothing happens.
