Equalizer APO

I've been trying for a while to make my equalizer work. I can list what I have done

-Uninstalled and re installed all of APO-
-Unticked everything-

-Reset my pc-

-Check my audio-

Now each time I try to change it to experimental which is the one they recommend. It goes back to SFX/MFX Instead SFX/EFX

Is this a bug with apo or im doing something wrong

Have you tried this? VB-Audio VoiceMeeter Banana (vb-audio.com) or route audio through a DAW like Ableton, I think they have a free version, could always do that with a virtual audio cable.

I need to do some stuff with APO that I can't do with Voice Meeter.

Hi, have you found the source of the problem Psykoz? I have the exact same issue and nowhere seems to cover it except this one forum post. 
It also seems to switch to SFX/MFX instead of the Experimental option each time I do it. The recommended LFX/GFX option adds an effects option to my audio properties but it doesn't seem to do anything. After a while it just unticks itself.
