CPU Priority Increasing FPS Significantly

Most places I look, the conclusion is that changing CPU priority has little to no effect on frame rate.  However, I've found that in games such as Warzone or Apex, having high CPU priority is the difference between a perfectly good experience and a choppy, low quality one.  I wonder why in my case it makes such a big difference, but it doesn't at all for others.

I don't know if I do to be honest.  I have Discord, Steam, Epic Games, and TaskbarX open all the time and that's about it.  Looking at my task manger those are the only things using my CPU other than the game.  Sometimes a browser in the background.  All of the other things that are using CPU in task manager are System, Antimalware Service Executable, COM Surrogate, Service Hosts, and other Windows processes that I can't exactly close or Radeon Service stuff that comes with drivers.  None of that is using more than a percent or two each, with most being between 0.1% and 1%.  It doesn't feel like a lot, but maybe it is.  

 

Could have something to do with the fact that I only have a 4 core CPU and since most modern games make use of all 4 cores, anything running in the background gets in the way.
