so i will hopefully be able to build my new computer today or tomorrow and the only concern i have is about my SSD since i've spent quite some time tweaking everything on my current rig to my personal perfection, so i'm wondering is it possible to just swap the ssd over without doing a fresh windows install and keep everything?  not that experienced but i could see this would be an issue due to current pcs drivers and all that

That shouldn't really be an issue, i did that recently. No problems what-so-ever.

Depending on the ssd, it may or may not come with migration software although many like to do a fresh reinstall since it's neater.

If you have an OEM copy of windows you're gonna have to ring up and politely ask for a new key because OEM windows is paired with the motherboard when you install it

Don't screw one in all the way before the other. Screw them all in small intervals from opposite corners until they are all secured.

Are you sure you're using the right holes?

Others have had the same issue with the NH-D14 but a quick change of where they putting the screws fixed that.

I have NEVER experienced this, and I've been using OEM copies for years, on multiple builds. But it could happen. Just saying your chances are slim.

And OP, I'd recommend a fresh install. SSD tweaks only take maybe ten minutes to complete.

Oh for real? Maybe you were really lucky? I have heard others saying it has but I haven't tried personally, guess it just depends.

If the bars don't look bent in a way they shouldn't be a problem.

How far off getting both on at the same time are you?

daaaaaamn that's heaps. If it was just a few mm I'd just push it down enough to get the other screw on, but that's way to much to be doing that, it'd bend/break something.

Who knows! I've been using the same OEM License on maybe three builds so far, and I've never had it deny me activation. Maybe I am lucky :P

If the two mounting screws (marked with blue circle) don't protrude through the cooler, then something is either bent or mounted wrong.

You still make it sound like you are bottoming out one side before attempting to screw on the other. The threads should poke through on both sides.
