Lacking boom arm knowledge

Go to solution Solved by Ahoy Hoy,

Its all standardised. Two sizes large and small thread 3/8 and 5/8

AT2020 is 5/8

I' m looking to get a boom arm and mic to free up some space on my desk and let my trusty modmic rest in piece. My knowledge of boom mics or quite small however.

I'm looking at the audio-technica AT2020USB+ currently, but i', not sure whether boom arm attachments have any unniversal standards. What should I be looking for?

Thanks

Most all boom arms and stands are standardised and pretty much everything comes with adapters to go up or down to the correct thread so I wouldn't fret if I were you.

The standard eBay $10 boom arm can easily hold a 2020 but before you purchase I'd suggest having a read of the link in my signature. Very few USB mics get the nod of approval on here and I think the info in that link might steer you towards some better choices.
