Well, I got it running.

After:

1. Getting the Windows 7 required update for api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.

2. Being confused about why eula.txt wasn't showing up
3. Realizing that I had to put it in not the root C directory

4. Creating a 100GB D partition
5. Agreeing to the EULA and getting it running

It runs fine now - I gave it 6GB of RAM and can support up to 20 people.

However, I'd like to name it something other than:
Minecraft server
A minecraft server

Does anyone know how?

You should really get rid of win 7 and put win 10 on there if your running windows.

I can't put 10 on there.

It flashes the boot image for a second and then goes to a flashing underscore - and I made sure to make it MBR.

Where are you seeing this minecraft name?

On my tower, when I go to connect to it. I'd like to make it so it automatically changes to x name, with x description and x image.

Did you check the config files?

Nope.

WHat system is this?

How did you make the installer? Try using rufus.

Otherwise run linux, you shouldn't be running 7 these days.

Did you google it or look at those guide?

For the picture, you need a 64x64 server-icon.png file in the server files.

Don't feel like setting up WINE.

Yep - got guides on how to change it locally, not for the server itself.

So a 64x64 .png file named server-icon.png? Thanks!

I tried a lot - no luck.
Here is what would happen:
1. I'd make my bootable installer on a USB 2.0 16GB flash drive with Rufus. MBR, named "Phenom II".
2. Plug it into the system, select it as primary boot device in BIOS, reboot.

3. Boot from the drive.

4. See the Windows 10 boot image for a split second, then end up on a flashing underscore. This is what I see when I try and boot from a GPT drive, except no split-second flash.

Should I try and run the installer from within Windows 7?
