Sorry i made it sound like that. No, to me building a computer is easy.

Why should people pay a lot for it then?

There will properly not be enough customers for it to work to be honest. There are so many computer builders and people are frankly not willing to pay you a lot of money for that. You are basically providing the same service than a all tech forums do already.

Im planning on doing a computer building business. My idea is that whenever someone buys a computer from me, what would happen is that I would go over with them each individual part and adjust the price based on total cost: parts combined with taxes and shipping, plus labor cost. When all parts and software is chosen, I would then ask for the payment to be able to get the parts and software. After I would receive everything I would either build the computer at my place and deliver it to them (if they live locally), or build it at their place (again, if they live locally). I will continue to revise this as necessary.

So tell me guys, what do you think????

I wouldn't pay more than $100 for labor of building. How old are you? Running a computer building business has way more to it than this. Its not easy especially since various other services provide extra coverage if anything goes wrong.

If you don't have money to start, don't try it. If it is going to be a legit business most of the time you need a business license. You can build a computer and sell them on ebay for like $50 more than what you paid for to build it to eventually gain profit

You need to have enough money for the bad things that could happen because they often happen and people could be mean to a starter, so watch out for patent trolls.  You would need to buy parts for their needs, you would need to provide a good warranty, a warranty statement.  You would need to be a Microsoft partner to get more customers, you would need a license, you would need enough money to repair parts if they break the computer and its on the warranty, most average consumers want a monitor and keyboard too.  You would also needs screwdrivers, sbudgers, screws, spare parts etc.  Hope this helps.

If you even hope to do this you will need an enterprise copy of windows. The ones that can be reused and reused and reused. Buying OS over and over will make it impossible to make a profit. The customer can just go buy a prebuilt. Plus it sounds like you are going to charge too much. You use the words "labor cost" like building a computer is difficult.
