The 3500x is about on par with the 3100 so either is good.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

...3500X? Are you Chinese, by any chance?

I guess it'd depend on if your workloads favor overall thread count or physical cores.

No im from the Philippines im currently doing 1080p editing and games and im currently running and amd a12-9800 sooo i really need an upgrade

Get the Ryzen 5 3500X. The 3100 has a suboptimal CCD layout and will perform significantly worse in all regards, especially gaming, due to the latency between the two dual-core CCXs.

Cheers

Ah, fair enough. Maybe the 3500X would be a better choice?

The problem here is that I really don't know the performance profile of the 3500X personally. Although, just going off of the fact that it has more physical cores (a useless metric in some scenarios, but considering that both CPUs are Zen 2 parts, it's useful enough to compare just off that), it might serve you better there.

Pretty obvious, Ryzen 5 !!!!! given that your existing board supports it

3500x is better because cores are worth more than threads

3 core CCXes on the 3500x isnt any better for latency tbh

Not much, but it's still an advantage. Combined with the two extra cores, the 3500X is an obvious choice.

The most obvious comparison to demonstrate the performance change is by comparing a 3100, 3300X, and 3600 side-by-side. The 3300X is competitive with a 3600 in many games; the 3100 is no where near.

Cheers
