It's a weird one but its happening.

It's a long story. My origional case had a bad power switch so i ordered a cooler master mesh from amazon but at the last minute they canceled the order on me. So i ordered this tower from overclockers.uk as a replacement.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/raijintek-silenos-pro-argb-mid-tower-gaming-case-black-tempered-glass-ca-04d-rt.html

The problem is i got this new case and built my components into it and it wouldn't post. It came on but just sat there with a blank screen doing nothing. So thinking ive damaged something in the process, i pulled out all my components and built them on my mother board box. The poor mans test bench lol. And my components worked perfectly. No issues. So i put it back in the tower and the same non post issue happend.

The long and the short is that every time i build it in the tower, it doesn't work. But if i build it on a test bench, it works. The computer isn't happy with something in the tower and i have no idea what.

If everything is the same then there should be no problem... there must be some difference, so work out what it is then double check the manual. For example if you are powering the pc on using the screwdriver method when on your test bench, do the same when it is inside the case, if it works then you may have gotten the FP connectors muddled up.

are the rest of the components turning on if so, have you checked for a post code or an ez debug led lit?

If I assume it doesn't, check if any of the front panel connectors being correct and the rest of the case connectors just in case but mainly the front panel connectors

Make sure to quote me if you want me to respond
Thanks :)

I can tell you that the power swith, reset switch and rgb switch all work as they should. I cant tell you about the mic, headphone or usb. I can't get far enough in to test them.

All components are turning on. Everything is lighting up as it should (i have loads of rgb). The debug light on the mother board lights up at cpu.

Something is wrong and i think i know what it is. The standoffs that come with this case look bigger than normal. The nubins fit the motherboard holes alright but the whole thing doesn't look right. Im going to replace the standoffs to see if thats the problem. I have a kit with hundreds of screws and standoffs so i can easily do that.

I fixed this. It was the standoffs that came with the tower. The nubbins were the right size for the motherboard but the hexagonal bit was slightly bigger than the standoffs i had. So i replaced the standoffs. All of a sudden everything started to work. Im using it right now. At a guess i would say the standoffs were slightly too big and were shorting out the motherboard.

Glad you got it fixed. Doubly glad that the short didn't kill something.
