I have recently gotten my hands on a ryzen 7 5800x and wanted to update my bios on my msi b450m pro-vdh v2

After installing the bios, my pc would either not output any video or instantly go into windows recovery mode. Upon pressing a key in the recovery screen, my pc would just turn off. I didnt install the new cpu yet. The ez debug led on the motherboard is on at VGA meaning something is up with my gpu. Ive tried a cmos reset but it didnt help. I will put a picture of the recovery mode in the added files (its in german tho)

here is the bios update i installed:

Its beta.. so likely bugged and broken.. also, B450 chipsets arent suppose to be officially supported for Ryzen 5000 series until sometime in January... so you likely will have to wait.

I have installed the older Bios but upon starting, i am greeted with a wide variety of random BSoD messages... many of them had to do with outdated drivers and an ntfs.sys file. I have litterally no idea what i did wrong..

NTFS is going to be your file system. See if you can get into Safe mode. If not, you will likely need to do a full reformat clean install of windows.

Is it possible for me to install windows on another drive and then boot off of that drive in order to not loose my data? I have not made backups for an eternity.

Update:

ok, so ive tried to boot off of both a USB and a CD.. the USB didnt work at all (that might be due to it being made on a mac) and the CD boot started looking good but before the window that lets you install or repair windows popped up, it crashed also because of some random system32 file... what do i do now?

Another update:

I was looking thru my bios very closely again and looked thru the pcie settings and changed it from „pcie gen: auto“ to „pcie gen: 3“ im bot sure if this was the error as i also corrected my ram speed from auto to 3000mhz but right now it booted correctly to my normal ssd so none of my files are lost. Will update tomorrow if it is still running stable. And besides: Happy new year to yall!
