Soldering headphones.

Tigerleon

Hi everyone. I was wondering if bad soldering will affect audio quality OR that you'll hear nothing at all when short circuited? Also is it easy to damage the driver in the process? Will one of the drivers sound bad if the soldering is bad or both drivers?

PM or DM me if you have any questions about audio.

Likely not unless your soldering is adding tens to hundreds of ohms resistance. It may make a more substantial difference on sensitive BA iems.

Not sure what you mean nothing at all when shorted. If u short the wires you'll prob blow the amp and possibly the headphones with it.

You wont damage the drivers with soldering no. Don't short anything.

Does soldering affect audio quality, yes and no. Yes it does changed it but no you wont be able to tell unless you are soldering like a welder. You will know if its shorting as it will sound totally wrong.

The heat travels down the wire so could heat the driver and melt the glue buts its unlikely as you have to be soldering close to the driver and have to keep the iron on the wire for a while to transfer enough heat.
