I was using my PC and it abruptly shut off. Not a reboot but more like someone pulled the power cable. I pulled the power cable, waited 30 seconds, put it back and hit the On button.. I can see LED lights light up on on of the PCI cards and an external drive I have connected also has a LED light on and I can hear a click sound when I push the power button but nothing. No fans, nothing posts.. Nada. This PC is about 4+ years old..

My guess, and this is why I am coming here, is that the mobo is dead.

What do you think ?

Thanks

J

Disconnect all PSU cables. Make sure you got them all.
Then just power the PSU by shorting the green wire with a black one on the 24pin-connector.
If the PSU doesnt kick on, you might need to get yourself a new one.

Sorry i misread.

Its indeed very possible its the motherboard.

But without more info that will be really hard to determine.

What hardware are we talking about and what leds light up?

Easy answer: try using other motherboard to see if it works then.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
