Will using an older cpu on a new system cause performance issues when installing and using a new cpu down the line?

Mctech

Hello everyone,

I know that the title may be quite confusing, so let me try to break down my thoughts.

I currently have a ryzen 5 3600 but I will soon be building a new pc for myself, with a ryzen 5 5600x processor. This will be an entire separate system from the one I have right now. All my parts for my new system are here besides the cpu, thus, I was wondering if I can use my ryzen 5 3600 in my new build without worrying about performance hitches down the line. What I mean by this is that will using the ryzen 5 3600 hinder any performance when I install the ryzen 5 5600x at a later time, or will the ryzen 5 5600x run like new when it replaces my ryzen 5 3600. I feel like this is quite a ridiculous question, but I am worried because I do not know exactly how chipset drivers and all these systems work. I know that I have to update my bios when I install my old ryzen 5 3600 and update the chipset drivers, but I will also have to do the same for my newer cpu. Thus, I am worried that these drivers and updates may potentially cause issues, especially towards performance/fps.

thanks!

No, at least not at the hardware level. IF you had issues after upgrading then you might want to resintall the OS, but that's unlikely.
