Hello all!

I am planning on building and buying some parts after a looong long time! I am mostly hooked to Apple macbooks due to the nature of my profession (I am a designer and companies giving out mostly macbooks).

So, my main usage will be around 3D (Blender/rendering/sketching), Adobe (Photoshop, After FX etc) and a good deal of multitasking / video calling etc. I am planning to invest some money now, and not upgrade for years to come (I know this is cliche but I am not really into buying new parts and following the hype). As for gaming I'll consciously try not to game -- at all.

Let me know your feedback on my build:

Case: Corsair iCUE 4000
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5950x
CPU Cooling: CM Liquid 360
Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X570-E
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 64GB 3600
SSD: Corsair Force MP510 1.9TB
PSU: Corsair 850W Gold
GPU: NVidia RTX 3090

--

I know some parts might sound like an overkill, but remember I'm really into 'upgrade-in-3-5-years mentality'.

Also, this is all my budget for the PC I guess - I have peripherals already.

i'm not very knowledgeable on what specs work best for design workloads, but i can say that you have made quite the powerfull workstation, with some good choices, though i'd suggest you check out temperature benchmarks on different 3090 cards since some might run hotter than others

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

thanks for your reply @flashiling! I've missed some episodes, for some builds I see a kind of GPU hydro-cooler -- does 3090 needs one too? 🤔 Or I should just google 3090 temps?

P.S: I'm going for 'MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming X Trio 24G' one

not very informed about how well the hydro-coolers work on a gpu, but i'd assume (not stating a fact here) that it would do about the same as normal water cooling does for your cpu.

But i don't think any specific card would have such a bad cooler that it would render useless, but if you have other options than the MSI card you can try to compare temperatures
