I have an AMD Ryzen 5950X with an RTX 3070.

However, I'll be without the 3070 for a couple of weeks whilst I upgrade to a 3080 Ti. - will the PC still run?

I heard AMD CPUs don't have an iGPU.

Integrated gpu. Check your I/O, you may have ports: That is first indicator. However, some cpus disable their Integrated gpu in bios if a gpu was ever used with the system. My gigabyte board with a I7-8700k did this and I was confused for days.

If there is no integrated graphics then you can't use it, but like guy above just said your integrated graphics could get disabled when you're using a gpu. In this case no, you can't connect a display without a dedicated gpu

Two things you need to consider

1. Does your motherboard have a display output port - HDMI, VGA or Display port

2. Does your CPU has internal graphics built in - Most of the cases with Ryzen no unless its an APU

He has stated what his CPU is.. a 5950x.. which has no iGPU on it. No need to post extra speculative stuff that will only confuse someone. Its a simple yes or no question.

5950x= no... you can not use it without a dedicated graphics card.

It actually depends on the motherboard. Some (few) AMD motherboards actually allow for headless boot which basically allows you to boot even if you don't have an iGPU or a dedicated GPU installed. So it actually depends on the motherboard used.
