Hello,

I am trying to setup an eGPU for my server, Unraid doesn't see the eGPU at all (even rebooting the server).

I tested the thunderbolt connection, it works flawlessly.

Spec
b550 Aorus Master

Ryzen 3700X

GC-Titan Ridge

Razor Core X

EVGA GTX 1080TI Pascal

also tried Nvidia GTX 690 as well as GT120

Thanks
Wing

does the gpu show up under lspci?

The the gpu show up in windows or another os?

WHat is your goal in unraid, id try using windows if that works for you.

I ran a ispci-v command and I don't see either the enclosure nor the GPU, but Titan Ridge was in the list.

I tried the GPU on a mac, it works like a charm.

My mobo doesn't have an open slot for a graphic card (a LSI Controller, a 10Gbe Adapter and a thunderbolt Adapter).

The main goal of using an eGPU is that I can fire up a VM whenever I needed

Does the egpu work in windows?

You can fire up a vm with virtual gpu if you just want a vm and don't need gpu power.

it doesn't work in windows 10. Window found the razer core X as well as the graphic card, but the card get an error code 12
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. (Code 12)

So then it looks like a thunderbolt issue on the board, not a unraid issue.

What slot is the card in?

What slot is the card in?

the internal GPU is in Slot 1, but under the properties, it states it is in PCI Slot 8 (PCI Bus 80) <--- the internal card works tho

the Core X 1080ti properties, its in PCI Slot 1 (PCI Bus 9)

What slot is the thunderbolt adapter in?

Id probably remove thunderbolt here, and just use a plain pcie extension cable.

Thunderbolt adapter is in the last x4 slot, USB, Thunderbolt and 2 x 6 pins are all connected to the MOBO

ID contact gigabyte customer support, as this seems like a board/card issue, not a os issue.

But id just go with a pcie extension to add the gpu you want, or just put the gpu in the slot.
