Laptop keeps shutting off

NotABigGamer

I am working on a laptop for a friend who was saying it would just randomly turn off. I cleaned the heatsink and removed all of the dust and it was idling at around 40~ 50 degrees where as it was like 60 before. I tried switching out the Hdd with another one but with no luck. What it does is when it turns on it just turns black with no shutting down screen or anything. Sometimes it doesn't even make it to the loading screen. Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks!

Yo, this might sound real dumb. But I was having a similar issue with one of my laptops and after a lot of searching the answer seemed to be that the processing unit had de-soldered itself. I still have it on a back shelf somewhere, hoping someday I'll have the resources to repair it.

I hope it isn't that. I probably wouldn't be able to fix that either.
