Hey All,

I've been having problems with extremely high idle temps. I notice my VCORE seems high.

I have updated bios and loaded optimized defaults and not changed a thing see my HW Monitor Pic Attached.

When I Open Asus Dual Intelligent Processors 5 and change the clock and then back again. The VCore Drops and all is ok.

I cant understand why this is happening.

Any Help would be appreciated .

Thanks,

I noticed a similar thing with my new CPU too, activating PBO gave me somewhat better performance.

I just notice you said these were idle temps, that is definitely not what I was experiencing. I would suspect an issue with cooling there. What are you using and have you checked the mounting?

There is something wrong here, not the voltages that concern my but the listed power draw, that converts to almost 900 Watts of peak power. Did you overclock the cpu? What is your cooling solution looking like?

EDIT: Please post HWInfo 64 results as well for comparison.

I think your processor may be thermal throttling in that image, you may want to make sure your cooling is adequate. I haven't run into that issue while building PCs before, maybe a setting you can change.

Yes I'm sure it is.

I have an H100i GT at the moment, I know its not ideal for this CPU but will be swapping soon. I had checked mounting a few weeks ago and re-applied paste which helped a little. Its been fine though never gets too hot.

So you guys don't think that voltage is too high?

From 1.368V down to 1.080V

The weird thing I don't understand is why the VCORE Drops so much when I tweak a setting as if it overwrites something else.

I'm not sure exactly what info you would like from HWInfo as I've never used it before...
