Crashes after closing game

IAcKI

Hi guys,
I'm abit stuck with a crash I keep getting. After any game is exited a random colour is displayed on both my screens with the computer still functioning.
there is no output however. I am experiencing no hitches nor any problems when tabbing from the game only once the game is exited. This happens on plenty of games so it's not down to the game.
Strangely it also happened when updating the Razer synapse software leading me to believe this was the cause, however even when not allowing it to run I still encountered the problem. Strangely the one time it hasn't repeated is when I reinstalled it. I've taken the OC off my card but not helping. I've tried to monitor my GPU and Processes going on and nothing would indicate why it is doing it.
I've tried a clean reinstall of my GPU drivers also to no success.

Hoping someone may be able to help.

Thanks

Can you tell us about any recent changes you've made to the software you use?

Otherwise, try reseating your GPU. For some odd reason, my card did this with a purple screen. It stopped doing it after I reseated for different reasons.

Not changed anything aside from the usual windows updates. didn't think about GPU reseat. I'll give it ago as stranger things have happened. It's baffling me though as I'd expect any issues like that to arise during a game not after closing it!

For the amount of effort a reseat is, you'd be surprised how effective the ol' "on and off again" trick is.

Let us know if it remains!

Well upon rebooting the game my GPU power is now stuck at 30%

That's unexpected. Did you plug in your power cables correctly too?

Yeah, ran fine the first time. I do think it's GPU driver related but even with a clean install the problem persists

If you're not sure whether your display driver is actually uninstalled, run DDU and then restart. Your GPU should disappear from Device Manager and show up as Windows Basic Display Adapter instead.

Yeah I always do clean install with nVidia. This was my next try as it's sorted stuff in the past!

Edit: forgot to include DDU link https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Problem is still persisting. I've now bought an M.2 to reinstall windows onto tomorrow, hopefully it's that! 🤞
