Crashing

ok this will be somewhat long so bare with me. I use to game on my 1070ti on many different titles and everything was fine, I was able to play games like Modern Warfare, Cold War, CSGO, and GTA 5 without any crashing low fps and all that. Than I got my 3070 and that would run smoothly with no crashing also. I decided that I wanted to overclock, it so i did. And everything was still ok, accept for GTA 5, whenever i played gta 5 it would crash, exit my game and take to desktop screen, but sometimes it would even give me the blue screen of death. At first I thought this was just a gta problem, but than other games like Call of Duty would start crashing to, so than I knew it was the overclocking, so I set everything back to factory settings and thought I was good, but than GTA 5 would continue crashing while Call of Duty is just fine, can someone please tell me what is wrong?

motherboard as well? and have you overclocked anything on your system?

your overclock might have failed. try lowering the speed down a bit.

i did, the first time seemed to have success but than i ramped it back up but it crashed so i ramped it back down again and it continued crashing

hmm...double check to make sure it is.  Is there a turbo boost mode that you have left on? could be causing it

some cards have a boost mode feature that can cause it to increase your speed when playing intense games. also have you made sure your bios is up to date?

try to replicate what happens and tell me what the BSOD screen error is

oh i remember it, it was "kernel security check failure" and "critical process died"

make sure your gpu is up to date then. if it is, just run the installer software to reinstall could be bad install

ok finally crashed, no blue screen just took me back to desktop

I'm guessing you have an actual spinning HDD that you are booted to?

Two 2TB HDD's and once 500gb SSD

If the 500gb ssd is almost or already full then the HDDs could be slowing your ssd down basically enough to crash. Check the health of your HDDs as well.
