Speakers making static noise? HELP!!!

My friend just plugged in his speakers, and they were just making a static notice. We made sure everything was plugged in. Any ideas?? The speakers are just some cheap $25 USD Logitech ones. We also updated audio drivers. Any help is welcome!!

Z200s? They're not half bad speakers for the avg consumer.

what are they plugged into? 

can you try them plugged into a phone and do they go to static as well?

if it's a computer are they in the back or front connector?

are they in the line out or headphone out?

is the volume maxed?

Does not go static if plugged into iPad

They are in the front

They are at max volume

In the end, the audio header was just loose. Everything works now!
