Hello. I was hoping to get some help from everyone. I hope I'm in the correction section, but my apologies if I'm not. I'm new to the forums.

I am a hip hop producer who makes beats, has a youtube channel, has a podcast and as of recently has been streaming beatmaking videos. The problem is, my only computer right now is a dell business laptop of some variety with an Intel Core i3-6006U CPU @ 2 GHZ w/ 8 gb of rab, and the graphics are just the intel hd w/e built in thing. I only shoot my videos in 1080p for the time being and even then, it takes my computer a ridiculous amount of time to optimize the media (davinci resolve term) and render it even with me doing literally everything possible to optimize that workflow for my piece of garbage machine and the limitations have made life incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, I also have about nothing in terms of money. LOL.

Someone near me just listed two computer components I find intriguing and I'm wondering if they'd be dumb to buy to start building a hyper cheap machine that can edit and stream better than my current machine.

Ryzen 3 1200 (first gen I'm told?) 50 USD

evga gtx   750 ftw 45 USD

Part of me thinks that if I could get those for like 75-85, I could maybe piece together a machine around 300 that would get me by for the next year or however long until I can get the beast I need. Am I being dumb? Help me, please. I'm an idiot. I just need a computer. :( lol

That's pretty good value for those parts, you could toss them into an inexpensive B350 or B450 motherboard and have a relly decent upgrade path in the future due to Ryzen's excellent compatibility.

I think you could definitely come close to $300 with a decent rig

And you can throw your current machine's hard drive in there

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Thank you so much!!!! I have a couple of dumb questions as I've never built a pc before so certain things confuse me to no end. lol. One, the seller whose selling the ryzen said it still has leftover thermal paste on it. Is that a problem? Two. With that motherboard, it says it has two PCI-E X16 slots and one PCI-E slot. Are these just different sizes? Also, if I put an SSD and a HD in it, do those take those slots? I know these are dumb questions. I'm assuming the GFX card takes one of those obviously. Could I put like a wifi card in one and perhaps more USB in another? How many total HD's could one have in this? I don't really know what I'm reading when looking at the specs clearly. :(

Nope. If you wanted to clean it, a paper towel would do, but otherwise it's no issue.

Yep (also the second x16 slot is only physical x16, but it's wired for x4)

SATA ports will be used, instead. You can easily find a guide for how to connect them on youtube to make it more clear.

Unless you connect an M.2 SSD, which will go in the M.2 slot above the top PCIe slot.

More USB? You might not find that too practical, considering the 8 slots in the back and the ones on the front of the case. Also, a dual slot graphics card would cover the small PCIe slot so a WiFi card would end up in the second large slot.

A USB hub might do the trick instead.

If you don't use a SATA M.2 and instead use an NVMe SSD (so a drive with one notch, not two) then none of the SATA ports will be disabled and you can use all 4.
