Hey guys,

I just came back from holidays and started my PC up, to find that Google Chrome doesn't want to load up and gave me an error window (Can't remember what it said). So I decided, "Alright, then I'll just un-install Chrome and remove all it's files." Well I did that and now upon re-installing it, this is what I get to see.

Please help guys, I don't wanna be stuck with shitty Internet Explorer :(

Directly from Chrome Support:

Step 1: Check if your computer hard drive has adequate space

Clear up hard drive space by deleting unnecessary files, such as temporary files, browser cache files, or old documents and programs.

Now try installing again. If you continue to experience this error, try disabling your antivirus software.

Step 2: Temporarily disable your antivirus software

Some antivirus software can prevent Google Chrome from installing on the computer. To check if your antivirus software is the issue, turn it off temporarily and try installing Google Chrome again. If you are able to install Google Chrome with your antivirus software disabled, check whether you need to upgrade your antivirus software.

If you're still unable to install Google Chrome, try changing your temporary directory.

Step 3: Change your temporary directory

This error may also occur if your temporary directory is unavailable during the installation process. Try changing the location of your temporary directory to see if this fixes the issue:

Go to the Start menu > Run.
Enter the following in the text box: C:\
Click OK.
Create a test folder in the C:\ window that opens, by going to File > New > Folder. Name the folder "test."
Download an alternate installation file for Google Chrome at http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?installdataindex=verboselogging. Save it to the new Test folder.
Go back to the Start menu > Run.
Enter the following in the text box: cmd.exe
Click OK.
In the command prompt window that opens, type the following: set TMP=C:\test
Next, type the following in the window: cd C:\test
Finally, type the following in the window: start ChromeSetup.exe

Okay, so I tried installing with the verboselogging Google Chrome link and this is the window that pops up now: http://imgur.com/iKXaheM

Maybe google is being dirty with it's post uninstall cleanup? But to be safe...

Uninstall chrome

Reboot

delete the chrome program files found in: C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Google

Reboot

Attempt installation again.

If that all fails you can try Chromium (the open source browser that chrome is based on)

Here's a link to a precompiled version I have used in the past: http://chromium.woolyss.com/

P.S. Due to the infinite wisdom of the Google, there is no such thing as a 64-bit version of Chrome for windows, only for Linux and Mac (#UNIX master race), except Chromium, because you're supposed to compile it yourself.

I'm on the last straw with Chrome.  Chrome is so buggy and has so many errors I'm getting really pissed off.

Try IE11.not as bad you as you think & definitely much better than buggy chrome. I am Chrome free for over a year now.so frustrating when it keeps crashing randomly & memory hog like hell.

This is VERY bad advice. IE is a very sad browser. Even if you dislike chrome at least use Firefox or Opera instead of IE. There is NO excuse to ever use IE or Safari, they're both very sad examples of security.

Agreed. Internet Explorer is HORRIBLE. Also very prone to viruses.

When was the last time you've ever used IE? I've been using it for more than a year now. As an average internet user, I've had none of the security problem. In fact, it has been all smooth and functional without the occasional lockups and resource hog I used to get when using Chrome. FF is my 2nd browser but it is noticeably slower than the IE11.

actually ie11 is the worst web browser, a simple google search will show this.

just look at this site chrome scored 1st and ie11 scored 3rd

and when you say chrome is buggy how? i have been using chrome for over 5 years and have had no problems

I have a problem where Chrome mutes itself. Besides that, everything else works flawlessly.

When IE11 first came out and LITERALLY the first website I went to Windows Defender came up with a virus, and if Firefox feels slower try switching to nightlies. And flash support for IE is terrible compared to Firefox and the webkit  based browsers.

Check you have enough space on your HDD/SSD, and if you have enough space then try downloading for this link, found here
