Upgraded gpu

Today I upgraded my gpu from a windforce 770 to a msi ventus 1650 the uninstall and install went smoothly but when I went to plug everything back in to my pc and the flip the power supply switch it made a noise and a small spark came out of where the switch housing is, there is no indication that my motherboard is getting power from my psu and it won’t turn on, I’m assuming it’s a psu problem but just to get another opinion on the matter before jumping the gun on it .
