Budget (including currency): 1000-1500€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming of AAA Titles

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Current System:

CPU I5-3570K @4.2GHz

GPU Asus Dual GTX 1060 6 GB

RAM 8 GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Thermaltake SMART630W 80+

SoundBlasterX G6

1080p60 two Screens (one for Gaming)

You can probably tell, I use the hardware until I have to upgrade for a pleasant gaming experience.

Atm im playing CP2077 and i'd say its playable but just so.

Components im looking at atm:

AMD 5600x

Asus Prime B550M-A (could be ATX, if its better)

Samsung 970 Evo M2

32GB DDR4-3600 CL16 RAM

For the GPU i'd like to go RX6800 once its buyable again until then stick with the 1060. (Budget should include the GPU if possible)

Do I need a new PSU?

Anything I should switch or anything I urgently need to kkeep an eye out for?

Would you suggest switching my old inwin(?) case?

Or should I wait for the AM5 Socket?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

This is what I would recommend. Bear in mind, if you are planning to do any streaming/recording, a 3070 (around 499 euros) will be a much better option as the Nvenc encoder in Nvidia GPUs are much better than AMDs.

I would recommend upgrading the power supply as yours is not great quality. As for the case, it is up to you as it will fit in your budget but if you are fine with your old one then stick with that for now.

quite a bad motherboard, if you want matx, get the msi b550 mortar, otherwise, there are lots of good atx options.

you need a new psu as well

you probably don't need 32gb of ram for gaming only.

I went with that motherboard because it was mentioned in the video. ;) (no, doenst have to be mATX)

The difference between 3400 and 3600 RAM is probably very small, I guess?

Since I played with the Idea of upgrading for a year now and since CP is playable, should i wait another 3-4 months?

(probably an impossible question but always indecissive about that)

With almost everything new, probably best selling the old PC as a whole and getting everything new.

Still got the old nvidia 570 that i could pop back in for the time being.

yeah i'd wait a couple of months as at the moment all gpus and most cpus are either out of stock or with inflated prices.
