So, I see this game was absolutely destroyed by critics and gamers in the past for broken gameplay. It looks like maybe they've sorted it all out, but it still receives really bad reviews (for the most part) I decided to try it out using Origin and it didn't seem THAT bad. Kind of dumb, but it was a good time waster.

I have a Ryzen 5 1600af overclocked to 4.0 ghz, 16 gb dual channel 3000mhz RAM and a RX 5700 (non-XT) with a 1080, 60 hz monitor. I have vsync turned on but am only averaging around 43 fps on ultra settings and 50 on high. Does this sound about right? I didn't think I'd have any issues averaging 60 fps.

Sounds right, when I got it I tried it on my FX 8350 rig, not a good idea, terribly optimized (CPU cache issue/poorly optimized).  Problem with the game is it was being developed...then took a U turn and it was incomplete by far and not having alot of what was promised.  People like myself enjoyed the game but my friends dropped like flies, so I did the same to the title.

I liked the game.  I liked it better then Warframe or whatever it is my gaming group prefers.

On my R7 1700 (with same GPU) I got much better frames and loading times but nothing spectacular.

Being honest (i played like atleast 50 hours from a free origin access lol) I kinda liked it .i played the storm and being able to fly almost indefinitely is fun. The part that got old fast was its too repetitive.

Sure flying was fun (i played atleast 50 hours in less than a month so im sure that proves that i had fun lol). But after a while quests are literally kill the same thing . Harvesting resources is a chore and events are literally the same even with different seasons. Also bugs. Some quests bugs pretty bad. I experienced it multiple times in the snow area with a big relic looking thing.

But thats just me. Its fun but repetitive.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

I remember enjoying the demo back then, but I think the game is really lacking in direction. It feels all lost, confused and just not very fun. I guess it's a good game to mindlessly play with YouTube on a second screen, but there are certainly other games that are better for that

I can see it becoming repetitive. I've only played about 4 hours and keep running into the same enemy (are they called scabs?LOL)

I am a little disappointed in the performance, it's very playable on high but I didn't think my GPU would have any issue maintaining 60fps. I don't even think it's maxing out my GPU (although vram usage is around 80-90%) and my CPU is around 60% the entire time.

I agree...it was uber confusing at first. I was lost (and still kinda am) with the crafting and alchemy parts.

Anthem is basically just a shitty version of Destiny 2 and Warframe. If you want to play a sci-fi looter shooter, you really are better off playing those two games instead.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.
