The Thermaltake TR2 series have a bad reputation, why can't he spend a couple of extra bucks and get at least an EVGA SuperNova?

I believe it's best that you narrow your choices from 6 to 2.

Once you have. Write @ my username and I will help you. You haven't need to choose between two builds not choose between 6 where they are nearly identical or similar

Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Peace out.

Why wouldn't you overclock until you cant anymore? Get the most performance. Also, the h100i pump rpm can be lowered so you wont hear it. If the 8350 isn't as good as a 4670k, then why do you even consider it at all?

There. No pump noise, and a better PSU.

I have a 430 watt TR2 running in a folding rig that's on 24/7 for the last 2 years and it hasn't died on me yet also the supernova is meh, a corsiar will likely be cheaper and have better build quality

Get a Noctua air cooler they perform about the same as a h100i until you start overclocking over 4.6 ghz

The Dark Rock Pro 3 is on sale right now for $70, and it's better/quieter than the NH-D14

With PSUs you can either get lucky or not, I have PSUs running for years now, that look like would explode in any second. I had problems with TR2 600W, And if you start reading what the Internet has to say about them, it's not good. SuperNovas are not that great, but they are very cheap and quite decent.

Just to add to that, It can also be the revision of the PSU just because v.1 was good doesn't mean v.2 is.
