When i play games i wish to know exactly what kind of audio source i am listening, like stereo or Dolby Digital..Is there a way to visualize that info?

So do I. You really have to dig to find out what audio middleware a game is using and hence how it interfaces with the sound card. Its very unlikely a game is ever producing dolby digital however, its much more likely its using the DirectX sound API although it could be ending in openAL instead.

Unless you have the source I can't really think of a way of doing this, there probably are some ways but I can't think of any right now

I need to know it because sometimes i turn on dolby headphones from my xonar dgx but the result sucks because games has no "DD output"..in that cases stereo is the best way for play.
