My old pc had temp problems and crashed when playing intensive games and I've now built a new one but I'm still using the same CPU. It turns on(fans spin, lights turn on) but won't display and dram light is red on the motherboard. I've already tried with and without GPU and 1 stick on ram in every slot and multiple brands of ram. Is my CPU just dead or is there anything I can do?

probably but have you made sure psu is 80+ efficiency and the motherboard does not have any scratches on the front or back. also try unconnecting and reconnecting all the cables. do that and if it still don't work than get a new cpu

Just realised my GPU isn't spinning either. I have checked all cables

Ryzen 5 2600 and b550 so it should be fine

Can we get a full model number because AMDs website says otherwise for the B550 chipset.

Yeah not supported on the 550 chipset.  If you can return the board and get a 570 chipset you will get support for your processor.

Thanks, think I'll still just upgrade my CPU to one that is compatible anyway.
