Need advice for upgrades

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

The PC I have now is a prebuilt from NZXT and for the most part everything has been great, but for Christmas I am getting a 144hz monitor. Currently I have been playing the new Call of Duty Cold War and the highest fps I have been able to reach at max settings (no ray tracing) is around 100. So basically I am looking to upgrade whatever parts necessary to get that little extra bump to get to around 144 frames to get the most out of my new monitors. My current specs are:

Intel Core i5-9400F

16G RAM at 2666 MHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

 

I am not the best when it comes to computers so if you need me to give more information for you to give a recommendation, please ask. Ill try to respond right away. I just watch Linus' videos hoping I will magically become smarter to make these decisions myself, but that hasn't worked out yet. Any help is greatly appreciated!

apart from getting an i7 or i9, there isn't much you can do to increase fps and those are quite expensive.

you can either live with 100fps (there isn't a huge difference between 100 and 144anyway) or try to lower some of the settings (having everything at max isn't always necessary).

there are some settings with very little visual impact (you won't notice if you turn them from ultra to high or medium), but with a large impact on the fps.
