Just finished up a build using a gskill tridentz royal RAM kit, and when I first installed mystic light it all worked fine, but after about five minutes the rgb on one of the ram sticks stopped working. I turned the computer off and switched the sticks around, but that didn't change, so it seems to be slot dependent. I also uninstalled Dragon Center and restarted and then reinstalled, but that didn't change anything either. I believe the issue might be tied to the Dragon Center only saying DRAM1 when I go to the RAM lighting settings.

Oh, hi, you’re new here right? Well hello, I’m TheCoder2019, my name is Carlos if you prefer. If only the DRAM1 is showing up, something about the RAM is a defect, or your motherboard drew too much power and killed it. You’re lucky if that is the case because if that 1 stick were to be gone, you’re out of a motherboard, and that other stick of RAM. The retailer can probably replace it because it does not sound like a user caused issue. It could just be a simple defect in the RAM.

Hi Carlos.

Yes I am new here. Thank you for your help.

I just checked on the task manager and it is displaying both 8 GB RAM sticks, so its just RGB issue, and the issue only happens to the stick I put in Slot A2. Could it just be an issue with the software?

It could be. Check with the manufacturer to see if they can give you a tester, or a loaner if that’s possible, if it works, you keep the loaner and send back the defective one. If it is showing up as the amount you have installed and the RGB  is not working, the RGB is dead, but it can still be used or repaired by g.skill for another purchase.

Thanks for the response. Should I also contact MSI to see if its a mobo issue? Or would GSkill be the place to start?

If it’s just the RGB that’s dead, go to g.skill first. Otherwise, go to MSI
