Like do mean triple A titles, indie, ect? Theres a LOT of games, and it depends on that specific game. Some games may be able to get you 100fps+ but if your thinking more like AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk, COD, ect. then your CPU will need an upgrade if you want more than 100+fps. Resolution is also as important 1080p a GPU can output more fps, than at 1440p than compared to 4k so closer to 1080p the more likely a CPU becomes a bottleneck, and the closer to 4k the more likely your GPU will become a bottleneck. You also only need that upgrade if the actual games your playing are not running to your satisfaction, and you can actually handle that higher fps. I highly suggest considering if you actually need an upgrade since prices are terrible right now and stock is garbage.

But if you think it's still fine, then it's fine

I have the money for a new cpu But i was wondering If i just get either last gen GPU or this Gen GPU with my current CPU SETUP would i be able to get High framerates (100+) on maxed settings on 1280p on this generation games (For example latest call of duty/ and any other high demanding games.(I am also one of those people who loves having tabs open on the second monitor while playing games so i can switch back and forth without any issue)

Are you unhappy with your PC performance? If yes, then is the performance limited by CPU? If yes, then yea sure, upgrade it

If no to any of those questions then either use it as is or upgrade the things that are limiting you

I also game on 2 monitors, with 2nd monitor on web browser

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

There are loads of comparison videos on youtube "ryzen 1600 vs <another cpu> tested in multiple games" type of thing. Eg. this

The 1600 holds up really well compared to the 2600, 2700 and 3600 in most games the 2XXX cpus have only marginal FPS increases so upgrading to a 2XXX series isn't worth it. However a 3600 seems to gain 20 to 30 % on most games, which is good but arguably not worth it either. Depends on how much you want to pay per FPS.
