Low latency mode (driver 442.19, feb/20) any good?

Go to solution Solved by Mark Kaine,

Doesn't seem to be a very popular mode huh?

well, I'm currently testing it, so far, the difference is minimal between off, on, and ultra... if there is any.

it did feel a bit more responsive with on/ultra but I didn't actually see this reflected in AB OSD, so could be placebo (hence I'm testing it a bit more thoroughly now) will update this post.

UPDATE! so at least for my driver, this seems to be a nothing burger, or in case of "ultra" a shitburger...

I see objectively, nor did I feel objectively any difference... 🤷🏼

ULTRA doubled the frame times and it kinda felt like dropping frames all the time even though it basically didn't...

Not sure if I'm sharing Nvidia's idea of "low latency" here, to conclude this.

Am now trying FXAA instead of TAA, wish me luck...

though I gotta say ~19ms feels quite OK, I just wanted to see if I can improve things while using 'high quality "texture filtering.

I'm just curious how the general experience is people have with this NV feature, is it worth it, does it actually reduce latency?

reading the internet reception seems to have been very mixed.

So yay or nay?  Did it improve in any way since February?

(yes I'm on this driver and will stay on it because my game doesn't lag with it, any newer driver it does tho, and I'm only interested in low latency mode now, because I set texture quality to high, which made frame times worse, from 16 to ~22ms)

Thanks.
