Hi, my PC is booting really slow, it does some kind of second boot and then shows up ROG's logo (like 40-50 seconds of that, then 5 seconds of POST); already tried updating BIOS, enabling Fast Boot (NVME), clearing CMOS, changing RAM slots, enabling/disabling XMP, reinstalling OS (Windows 10 x64), changing storage, still slow.. 😔

Specs:
- ASUS ROG b450-f (Current BIOS v3103)
- CPU: Ryzen 2700
- RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX 8GB 3200mhz CL16 (HX432C16FB3A)
- Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB + Toshiba P300 2TB
- PSU: XPG Core Reactor 750w

Any suggestions? 😅

Running any OC? If yes, disable it and try again.

Did you unplug your HDD when installing windows?

Could be that some system files are on there and the boot needs to wait for the HDD.

Also, welcome to the forums!

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Have you tried all the SATA ports on your motherboard one by one to see if any of them work better for your boot drive? Also what is your graphics card? Are temps looking ok? I’m assuming you already set up your boot priority correctly too.

His boot drive is an NVME M.2 drive.

Yeah, already tried that before, thought would be fixed with nvme, but still happens

Make sure CSM is disabled in BIOS and your HDD is formatted using the GPT partition table otherwise Fast Boot will do nothing. To check open Start, type System Information and hit enter then find the line that says BIOS Mode. It should say UEFI, if it says Legacy then your system is installed in the wrong mode.
