I/O shield? HELP

okay so i bought a motherboard off my friend but he didnt have the I/O shield that comes with it.....is the I/O shield that important? will the computer work without it?

It's pretty important but you're fine so long as you don't accidentally ground out your board.

Im using my pc without an Io shield, it doesnt ground as well is it can but its not a massive problem, keep it off the carpet and dont "violently" rub it while you have cloth on.

Well it can help ground...something, I'm not entirely sure what. The biggest issue is that you have a nice big unfiltered hole for all that dust to get in.

Call the manufacturer for one.
