Dead Pixel AOC c27g2

kevinlaz

Hi all, I just bought a brand new AOC c27g2 gaming monitor and right out of the box, after a first time run I notice one dark/dead pixel. You can zoom in to see its not really dead but rather a little dark.

I am going OCD with this :-((((

Should I accept it or ask for an exchange? The thing is this monitor is currently out of stock :-((((

Lastly can I even fix this?

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the forums!!!

I personally wouldn't bother if it doesn't affect me in games and videos. My personal monitor has this weird issue where there is a hole and you can see the RGB pixels on a pitch black screen only ( if you adjust your head around that point, it changes colors). That's along the right side of the monitor around an inch away from the edge but if I didn't screw up my first monitor ( Side panel pushed out and hit the screen when unscrewing the last thumb screw...go figure), I wouldn't of had to go through two exchanges with the one I have now.

IIRC there are industry standards when it comes to dead pixels that the display manufacturer don't even have to cover in a RMA as it has to meet a certain criteria before replacing the panel.

Thanks!

Hmmm you make a good point. Its not even noticeable in videos and games.

Its just that AOC has a 3yr Zero dead pixel policy so I was like why shouldnt I deserve a piece with no dead pixels 🙂

I should probably keep using it until a replacement is back in stock and is within my return window.

I read that applying manual pressure might alleviate the problem. Is it worth a try? I dont want to make it worse.
