Missing pins on PSU cables

Hey everyone, My friend bought a second hand PSU (Corsair RM750X) and he noticed some missing pins on the PCIE and CPU power cables. Are these pin holes meant to be empty? Thanks.

Which end is the PSU-end, and which is the motherboard / GPU-end of the connector?

 

For the PCI-E 6-pin connector, for the GPU-end, the missing center pin is optional, according to ATX standard specs.

The EPS 8-pin connector, for the motherboard-end, should have all 8-pins populated.

Depending on the PSU, it may or may not be fully populated on the PSU-end.

Different pins will be missing depending on the use of the cable. Looking at some I have laying around I'll describe what I have. Clip on the bottom like in your pictures. Hopefully this isn't super confusing.

Is Type-3 what the RMx series use?

 

I can't seem to figure out if that 6-pin connector  OP showed is supposed to have 2 missing pins.

EDIT: Oh... it's the molex connector, PSU-end.

 

@redcan0 Yes, those are normal for those connectors.

The 6-pin connectors he's showing are the SATA/PATA connectors that plug into the PSU.

He also asked if this cable is normal. Apparently the text on the comnector is “Type 4” I think its the sata cable

Yup.

There is literally a SATA power connector on the cable...you can see it haha

Yeah. Just wanted to be sure. Since a faulty PSU may be dangerous. Thanks for the help.
