Budget (including currency): 1200-1400

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Video Editing

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Going to use an existing case, move some SATA storage drivers over, try and use another windows that I already bought.

Trying to get the main parts for a editing PC

I have been messing on newegg.ca for a bit picking things out.

I have built pc's in the past, but I have been out of it for a long time.

trying AMD this time

I really have 4 main pieces that I am getting - I am thinking about waiting to get a video card

Ryzen 7 3700x - ~ 400$

ASRock X570 Steel Legend - ~ $250

GSkill Ripjaws 32GB DDR4 3600 - ~ $185

Samsung EVO 970 1TB NVME - ~ $190

Seasonic 750W PS - ~$145

I think the card comes with a cooling fan, dont need an OS or Case, and was thinking about waiting on the video card.

~ $1200 + tax

Any bad choices here?

Thanks!

as others have said that cpu doesnt have a igpu so thats a problem. second if you are not overclocking but still need the other features of a x570 over a b550 then a stock cooler will be fine. if you dont need those features and wont be overclocking then better to get a cheaper board. also the 3700x is a olderish cpu meaning there is a new gen out now the 5000 series but its out of stock but a heck of a upgrade i dont mind people waiting for gpu i just built a 10850k system and had to install a 1650 super until i can buy a rtx3080 and by install i mean i bought a cheap gpu and will give it away when im done with it

Thanks,

I didnt see the IGPU part.

I didnt want to put $300 in to an older card when the newer stuff is coming out just not in stock.

Same deal with the 5000 ryzen - I would likely use one of those, but there isn't any stock - thought that 7 3700x might be an ok place to start.

Thanks for the list boggy

I was wondering if I should enter in the 1660 range - or if there was something in a 20 series that was comparable.

Is that 650W enough for future stuff also?

For the 30-40$ - is the X570 not a better option? more IO and onboard connectivity?
