I'm currently using my PC with Windows as my OS.I have two SSD's, one of them has Windows on it, and another Ubuntu. I just want to know if I have two monitors, can I use Ubuntu and Windows simultaneously. I work on Windows, and my brother on Ubuntu. Is that possible?

For that you will need to set up virtual machines. But you'll need a second GPU, cuz nvidea doesn't allow you to split a gpu into 2 virtual machines. So that might be a no go...

So, if I have a GPU then what can I do? I don't know anything about virtual machines.

Linus does it in this video:

But it's expensive, you need one more gpu that can handle the game, you need to allocate cores to the virtualisation, so since your cpu only has 4 cores you kinda can't, and you need memory both for hosting the vm, and for the two "Systems".

The short answer is no, at least on bare metal.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Nope, that's 2 people using 2 different OSes with 2 monitors, 2 mice & 2 keyboards.

OP wants to run 2 OSes off 1 PC, 1 monitor, 1 mouse & 1 keyboard. That is very different, it is possible but needs more specialised (and expensive) equipment like KVMs.

Ah, i got confused since op said "simultaneously", i thought he meant at the same time, which is what simultaneously means.

Hmm, actually you might be correct. OP does indeed specify 2 monitors so maybe the vid you linked too might be correct.

We'll just have to wait for OP to respond, then we can take it from there, but i really don't think his specs are good enough for running 2 vms, but that depends on what he is doing on them.

My brother uses ubuntu just for coding, and I am not gaming on it my windows(period). I'll be using it for some coding and 3d modeling. No heavy works.

But do you need to use them at the same time? Do and your brother need to use them simultaneously? Because if not you can just dual boot, and thats easy, but if you need them at the same time, it gets really hard...

Then you need to do some virtualisation, which you need another gpu for, this is the same as the video i referenced earlier.

I'm watching it, but can I get a cheaper GPU, as I'm not going to be gaming?

It's just going to be better to get anoher computer anyways, your CPU does not have enough cores, and you'll need another gpu, so i would recomend just building a new pc, you can ues 2nd hand components to lower the cost, since it doesn't need to be too fast. I'm sorry. So just build a new pc with slightly older parts, and you should be good.
