I started to go deep into headfi (headphone audio) on my last psu, a seasonic focus gold 750w and that popped, so I replaced it with a corsair rm750x but since I've noticed a massive jump in noise floor.  I mean now I can hear coil whine in my cans.  I honestly don't know if my audio equipment has improved to the point that it's that revealing or it's the psu being "dirtier".  I know that the corsair is higher quality for general PC use, but this noise is real. *edit: oh I don't hear any of it when balanced.  *edit again: also at some point I started folding

Audio go Brrrrrr

What gear are you using?

Topping DX7 for dac/amp, little bear p7 tube amp, little dot mkII tube amp, darkvoice 336 se tube amp, emotiva a-100 power amp, hifiman he-400i balanced planar magnetic headphones, sennheiser 6xx dynamic headphones, beyerdynamic dt880 600ohm dynamic headphones

I've got a pi2aes arriving this monday so it should solve my problem by seperating everything with wifi.  I was just wondering if one psu could be noisier than another.

But there are so many possibilities in the noise, I switched usb cables at one point and introduced a single ended switcher.  Odd thing is that my dx7 makes the noise single ended but not balanced and my darkvoice that I got today produces no noise.  I know it's not a tube thing because the class A emotiva produces the noise.  It's like my gpu coil whine is coming through my headphones.

You are wearing open backs you could just be hearing the coil whine regularly through them. Try plugging in am iem or a closed back
