RTX 3080 memory overheats

Jjziets

Yeah. I just did the thermal pad swap on mine as well. I did it all at once, so not sure which part was most effective, but I used 3mm on the back of all 4 vRAM locations, and behind the GPU chip itself, then replaced the front side with 1.5mm and 1.0mm depending on location. I just measured each with a micrometer and then look at how much indentations the chips were making on the outgoing pieces.I used all Gelid 15mw ultimate pads. And cleaned off the copious amounts of leaked oil of course. Huuuuuge difference. I was having to underclock memory 500mhz and cap power at 60% to keep my vRAM at 98-104c . Now I am at 70% power and OC'd memory +800mhz, and vRAM is 82-86c after 24 hours of hashing. This is a Gigabyte Eagle 3080 Ti
