Hi Folks,

Been a while since I was on here....

Anyways bought a Gigabyte RTX 3070 OC yesterday, all fired up, but not getting the frames I was expecting. I do have an old i5-4690K running at 4GHz so thinking this may be the issue paired with MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING motherboard and 16GB GDDR3 memory.

Although it's the most optimised game I'm getting 70fps and dipping to 50fps on COD: CW. Even on Overwatch I'm getting 60. I've reinstalled drivers from GPU but still the same.

Any ideas?

Case: Carbide 300R

CPU: i5 4690K @ 3.90GHz

RAM: 8GB DDR3

Mobo: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming

GPU: R9 290 Tri-X

PSU: EVGA SUPERNOVA NEX650G

Storage: 4TB NAS

Drive 1: Seagate 1TB 7200RPM

Drive 2: WD 500gb 7200RPM

I would say you don't have a system that can generate frames fast enough for a 3070 to render at 'amazing' speeds; what did your 3070 replace?

**I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have amended.**

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Well I did have an R9 290 for about 5 years, 2 weeks ago I got a 970 from a friend so I could at least play CW. I should mention even when taking the settings down from medium/high without RT and running on low i still get the same FPS

major cpu bottleneck. 3070=2080 ti.. You shoudl not pair that cpu with such gpu at 1080p. at 4k it could be fine. at 1080p certainly not.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

bad airflow case, but it should be fine with right set of fans. What exact 750w psu? it can be horrific or very good.

yeah that is fine. try to get those parts i listed. you shoudl see a huge pump in performance since 5600X is similar to 10900k at gaming +-1-5% give or take.
