Suggestions for PSU

Hey,

I'm looking for some suggestions on a PSU for my computer. I had been using a Corsair RM750 which is 8+ years old and it broke (we think) earlier today so we need a replacement.

I've use various calculators and it looks like I use 479W of power when under load so every site recommends a power supply that is rated at 530W+

I've gone through the google sheets document but I can't figure it all out... there are hundreds of choices

 

I don't want to have to spend more than £85~ on one...

My system consists of:

* AsRock Extreme6 x79
* Corsair CPU Cooler H110
* Nvidia 1060 6GB
* 32GB HyperX RAM
* Intel Core i7 4930K
* 2x Samsung SSDs (512 Evo & 1TB Pro)
* 4x Samsung / Toshiba HDDs (3TB, 3TB, 1TB, 1TB)
* 1x SATA DVD-RW Drive

 

 

I use the following connections from my PSU:

* 1x 24pin (Goes into motherboard)
* 1x 8pin (Goes into motherboard)
* 1x 8pin (6 pins go into the GPU
* 1x 4pin (Molex goes into the motherboard)
* 2x 4pin (7 sata connections go into HDD/SSD & DVD drive)

The txm 750w  is the best of those. IT will support future high transient gpus well like rtx 3000 or rx 6000.

 

But any of those will work on your current setup, and might work with the high transient gpus.

I can't find these in the spreadsheet document?

 

I was just wondering what class they are and their details compared to others.

 

Would I be safe to get the 650W and use a molex to SATA power converter to provide power to my dvd drive?

 

If anyone else has any PSU suggestions it would be appreciated as my PSU knowledge is very very limited

All PSUs linked above are in the spreadsheet's unit index sheet, where you're looking at ?

It's fine really but i'd recommend to get a PSU with enough SATA power connectors to be safe.

As a reminder, don't reuse any modular cables from your current PSU, all cables you use with a new PSU should be the ones that come with it.

I found them all eventually!

Does anyone have any other suggestions for PSU?

I ordered one from Ballicom.co.uk and it was in stock when I ordered... I ordered with next day delivery and it's 2 days later right now, they've only just told me that it was out of stock. No offer of free delivery on a different item, no discount, nada. So I told them that I expect a refund back in my account within 48 hours & asked them to delete my entire account as per GDPR.

They left a voicemail on my mobile number and think that's an acceptable way of informing you that they screwed up
