S1468 CPU socket 7 caps

I cant seem to find a direct answer to this question, so I know you guys can help!

Task: I am building an old pentium computer, retro using a S1468 motherboard, socket 7 with a pentium 133mhz!

Problem: the caps inside the socket (old caps, and they have not been replaced or damaged in any way) stick up to far for the cpu to seat "flat" or "flush" in the socket! the caps cant be pushed down! its 3 caps causing the problem! any suggestions?

thank you

here are the photos! the culprit, im thinking, is the black part under the cpu which is not allowing the cpu to seat properly

wait, epoxy packaged caps are actually used in sockets? these things are bad for fitting in small places, I dont expect them to be in sockets...

I dont know what they are made of, but mt focus is their package. There are flat packages that fit way better in tight spaces so these are not what I'm expecting

what would they be doing there interfering with the CPU? i dont know if this was manufactured on all of these boards or some error just on my board!

did intel make any other pentium, that i dont know about fit this socket without the caps being a problem?

and i did check the socket itself to make sure that the socket or board wasn't bent

this is just strange to me!
