Is it fine to leave the graphics card attached to the mother board while I wait for the new cable?

I got my new graphics card for my Optiplex, but I can't really use it since I don't have the right cable nor the adaptor for it (my Monitor is VGA only and I had to get an adaptor since new monitors are expensive) And I'm waiting for the VGA to HDMI adapter come. Should I just keep it inside the plastic and the box or should I attach it in as I wait for the new adaptor?

Just leave it in the box and install it once you get the adapter :)
